Join us for a talk by Paul Baker, author of the book ‘Outrageous! The Story of Section 28 and Britain’s Battle for LGBT Education’. This book tells the story of section 28 from the background that led up to its introduction and the activism to revoke it.
Paul will give an introduction of the law, the political and social climate at the time, and Section 28’s legacy. The talk will also focus on Leeds’ anti-section 28 activism and we will have some archival material available to look through and a pop up bookshop selling Paul’s books by The Bookish Type, Leeds Queer Bookshop
