West Yorkshire Queer stories was an oral history project which ran from 2018 to 2020 and gathered 200 interviews from queer people within West Yorkshire. Oral history is a brilliant tool for recording social history, especially for marginalised communities who are often neglected in the recording of history.
Ray Larman will be leading a workshop to learn how to record Oral History, sharing her knowledge and experience of working on the west yorkshire queer stories project. During the workshop you will learn how to record oral histories and conduct interviews.
If you have any recording equipment you are already comfortable using, feel free to bring this and if not we will have equipment available to use during the workshop.
The workshop will have a break in the middle with refreshments.
